I feel like I really did a lame thing this week in not really pushing the boundaries of what I could do. The topic is the 1980's. For whatever reason I just couldn't think of anything to do. Which is retarded because there's so many different things you can do. So much creativity came out of the Reaganomics depression.
Anyways, what I came up with is based off of a SKEME piece. I saw it on a documentary called Style Wars that kind of blew my mind and ruined my perceptions.
Here's the original piece:
And here's my version from the safety of my sketchbook, which is why I feel like it's a cop out. I should have gotten out and wrote in the city. Instead I did this from the safety of my couch while watching football.
The best part about SKEME is that he's still writing.

Not a cop out..city will be there for the taking, another day.(encouraging da recklessness, in the name of art..haha;)
ReplyDeleteBorrowed theme, but freakin sweet that you pay homage and it's complimentary. Details, nice that the skyline reflects true to that time somewhat.
Luvin todays posts, Peet!!
