And...SCENE!

So while I feel like I've had no time to myself, in all actuality I've had a ton and come up with some great ideas and actually finished a painting.

Here it is, from a multitude of different views. Lemme know what you think!

"Siddown an' Shaddap"
30"x36"
Water based Oils and Acrylic on Canvas
Above is the finished version and the best photograph I could take. I know I've said it here before but I'm an absolutely awful photographer. Anyone who wants to come take pictures of my work please do! 'Cuz I suck at it. Below is the same painting and mainly the same photo as well just with the flash on. 'Cuz I suck.
This is just for size comparison. The actual size is 36" (h) x 30" (w)
This is how I add the "drips." I'm sure there's a technical term for this but I don't know it. So they're drips. Also this is the point where see all the mistakes I've made an instead of fixing them I just embrace them.
The painting is resting on my painting sweatshirt. In the winter obviously I paint while wearing it and I use it to clean my brushes. During the summer however it also doubles as a drop cloth.

ok

So yesterday I put up a picture, and I haven't done a TON of work but here's a quick update of the painting and a new page of my sketchblog.

Seriously, just lemme know what you think.

PLEASE?!

Also while painting I've been listening to White Chapel, All Shall Perish, Salt the Wound, Through the Eyes of the Dead. While drawing on the other hand I've been listening to Mos Def, Black Star, Erykah Badu, and A Tribe Called Quest.

ARGH!

Holy jeebus. I totally forgot to update this thing. I've been drawing!

I swear!

I swear on my puppy's life!

Anyone who knows how unhealthily obsessed I am with my dog will know that I'm not kidding around. I mean it.

Anybody want a peanut?

Princess Bride references...yea. It's been a while. This isn't all of it, but it is all of my sketchbook. Anyways let me step aside and put my artwork where my mouth is.

Ugh

So for those of you who might not have heard, this weekend Mark Batty Publishing had an event in Bushwick that was pretty amazing. Graffiti artists where doing HUGE murals that were gorgeous even if you think it's a crime. A ton of gallery spaces, awesome food, free drinks, and a buncha vendors selling hand made original clothes, jewelry, toys, comics, paintings, and dvds.

I was one of those vendors and I made a handful of cash so all of you who got a chance to come out I appreciate it. If you didn't I promise there will be more. I'M BACK ON THE GRIND!

Anyways while I was there during the downtime I did some drawing. Which I will now post so that you may anonymously mock it.

ENJOY! Also please follow me if you have a blog, I will return the favor.

Newest..

It's done, these are just "un-good" cell phone pictures and when I get my camera back from my girlfriend I'll post "real" pictures as well. I also recommend clicking on each picture to get a better look at it.

A lil' late, but better than a missed period?

So yea, those of you who follow me on facebook have seen that I've been trying to update that frequently, and those of you who only follow me there won't read this. DAMN YOU! Anyways, I was going to start a new painting that involves a saber tooth tiger skull and autumn leaves but my girlfriend said "If you don't keep painting animals practicing religion you'll never see my boobs again."

Ok she didn't say that but she did say I should keep painting 'em so spontaneously I figured out what I wanted to do. Needless to say I sketched it out today and I worked out the details in pen and just started writing random words. Free association is how I title most of my pieces. Enjoy!

A Process...

Ok, so today I'll be drawing later, but since I didn't have to work I'm going to be updating now and blahblahblah you don't care. Anywho, this update is going to show how I work from start to finish. I'm only going to post the process of 1 painting up here and on my facebook "fan" page I'll be posting this update AND another painting from beginning to end. If you wanna see it click on the little facebook icon thing on the right. Anyways without further adieu, here goes nothin'!

I usually draw everything on paper first, with color ideas and title ideas:

Then I draw it out onto canvas using a regular pencil:

Then...painting:

Then after a few little details and minor little alterations that no one will notice except me..the finished product!

Title: "It Ain't Shinola"
Size: 24"x24"
Medium: Water Based Oil Paint, Acrylic, Marker

And here...we...go!

So yea I didn't update yesterday, 'cuz an old friend was trying to help me figure out the business side of the art world. Unfortunately I'm a retard and was barely able to process what she said. Also I'm going away this weekend, I'm gonna try to get it set up so it'll update automatically for me but I'm not sure I can. Anyways, once again I'm struggling with ideas but here are 2 pages of doodles.

Day One

So here I am, adding yet another blog into the internets that is already filthy with them. I won't be writing (much) in here this will be for my daily or almost daily (3 times a week minimum) blog. Without further adieu...
